2024-2025 League By-laws
Changed for 2024-2025: The feathers on the darts may now be any color. Previously, the feathers had to be white.
- A prayer and a passage of scripture must be said and read each night, either before play or before serving refreshments.
- The official league night will be Monday. Starting time will be 7:00 PM with 7:30 PM being forfeit time.
- All boards must be wired including the sacrifice block, error block, double play block, and "long single" block. The height should be 56 inches from the floor to the center of the home run square. All around first is out.
- The darts to be used must be provided by the home team. They will be natural wood with four feathers. No darts are to be altered in any way. Each team must begin the new season with a new box of darts.
- Each team is to provide a different umpire for each game. The umpire must be at least 16 years old. He must remain neutral as he officiates, restraining from vocal or physical distractions.
- The number of players on a team is to be 6 or more. Teams with 4 or 5 players can use "John Does" to make up a team of 6. Players can be added anytime, but must bat at the end of the line-up for that game. Both captains must agree to permit a team to play with only 4 players and two "John Does".
- Players will throw from a 25-foot line and players aged 70 and over throw from a 20-foot line. Players with a handicap (permanent or temporary) can throw from the 20-foot line. There will be no question of a player's age.
- The minimum player age is 12. A player who is too young to be eligible at the beginning of the season can begin play immediately upon their 12th birthday. No more than ⅓ of the team shall be under the age of 16.
- Rules and by-laws can only be changed at a captains' meeting by a majority vote.
- League officers for the season are made up of three captains: the current year host team and the host teams from the previous 2 years. These three officials will rule on any unusual occurrences not covered under the league rules and by-laws.
- League officials may decide (as necessary) that team standings will be determined by the winning percentage instead of number of wins.
- Games cancelled must be made up before the end of the half. Failure results in canceling team losing 3 out of 3 games. No games may be considered forfeited unless approved by the league officials. Any team that forfeits games against a team in both the first and second half without approval of the league officials will be ineligible for any post-season awards and will not play in any post-season games even if they are qualified.
- The home team is to report results no later than Tuesday at 10:00 PM. Cancelled games are to be reported the same. Results are to be the number of wins and losses for each team.
- The home team will provide refreshments for the players of both teams to be served either during play or after the final game.
- Dues will be $50.00 per team each half which goes into the general fund.
- In the event of the death of a league member, money shall be sent in his name to a charity identified by the player's team. The league will contribute $40.00 per each occasion.
- All opponents will be played twice in each half.
- Games will now be scheduled on the 1st Monday of Hunting Season.
