2024-2025 League Rules

Changed for 2024-2025: The "S" square is now a wild pitch instead of a sacrifice. The pitch counts as a ball. All base runners advance 1 base. If it is ball 4, it will count as a walk.

  1. DP = Double Play
With men on base and less than 2 outs, the batter and the lead base runner are out. The remaining base runners advance 1 base. In all other situations it is a strike.
  2. S = Wild Pitch
The pitch counts as a ball. All base runners advance 1 base. If it is ball 4, it will count as a walk.
  3. E = Error
Batter goes to 1st. All base runners advance 1 base. For season totals, error will be recorded as an at bat only (not a single).
  4. Foul Line
Player must not cross the foul line in throwing. 1st time is a warning, 2nd time is an out. The decision will be made by the umpire. Any player crossing the foul line to question an umpire's decision will be called out.
  5. The one-inch square in the middle of 1st base is designated as a "long single". Any base runner advances by 2 bases.
  6. The double play square will be positioned near 1st base; the error square will be positioned near 3rd base.
  7. If a thrown dart comes in contact with any foreign object before it hits the board, or if it hits the playing field and falls to the floor, it will be counted as a "No Dart". If the dart hits the floor first it will be counted as an "out". If the dart sticks in the wire, it is a "No Dart".
  8. The colors and dimensions of all new boards must be the same as "APEX" manufactured boards. This includes all locally made or repainted boards.
  9. There will be a two-league format with each team playing the others twice, each half.
  10. Each team will keep a record of their own hitting statistics.
  11. End of season awards will be given to the players with the highest total number of hits in the following categories: Singles, Doubles, Triples, Home Runs, and overall batting average. A minimum of 150 at bats is required to be eligible.
  12. Only regular season games will be used for totaling end of season team and individual awards.
  13. If the umpire's back is turned and a dart is thrown before the umpire is ready to officiate it is a "No Dart".
  14. The winners of the first and second half in the American League and the first and second half in the National League will play each other in the play-off series at the end of the season to determine who will play in the World Series. The site of playoff games is to be a neutral site selected by the league officers. The neutral site team is to provide umpires with playoff teams providing the snacks or dessert.
  15. Displays of bad sportsmanship will not be tolerated. We are to be examples for our younger players. The captains must control their team members and enforce this rule.
  16. A coin shall be flipped before the start of a championship game. The team with the better record shall be heads. Game 2 is opposite as to who is home team. If a third game is necessary, another coin toss as described above will determine the home team.
  17. The Round Robin will be a seeded single elimination tournament. Seeding will be determined by overall standings for both halves. If teams are tied, they draw numbers to determine position.
  18. Tie-breakers for first place finishers is a playoff with first team to win 2 games being the winner. If more than 2 teams are tied, they all play every game until one teams wins 2 games.
  19. The home team is to provide a marked umpire box, a minimum of three feet short of the board and at least three feet away from the side of the board.
  20. Intentional Walk
Each team is allowed only one intentional walk per game and a player can only be walked once per night. The walk cannot be used to set up a "John Doe" to end a game.
  21. The batting order will continue through all three games. (No top-of-order for games 2 and 3.)
  22. Extra innings will start with a runner on 2nd base.
  23. During the Round Robin tournament, a player who was intentionally walked in a previous game may be intentionally walked again by a different opponent in a subsequent game.
